Update Offers in Clients' Carts
You can update offers in the client's cart automatically. When the client proceeds to the Cart, the date and time of adding the item to the cart are checked, as well as the date and time of the last relevance check.
Manage this tool in Settings ► Settings of preset pages ► Cart:
Update offers in the cart – enables/disables verification of items in the client’s cart for relevance and their update;
Relevance period for the items in the cart, hours – the time period in hours after which the item in the cart should be checked for relevance and the related information should be updated. It is displayed only if the parameter Update offers in the cart is enabled;
Data in the cart are updated in the following way:
When the client proceeds to the Cart, the time of adding the item to the cart is checked, as well as the time of the last relevance check:
If the period specified in the parameter Relevance period for the items in the cart, hours has not passed yet, the item is considered relevant and the following check is not conducted.
If the period specified in the parameter Relevance period for the items in the cart, hours is over, the repeated price search is done for the item. The item is defined by the following combination: part number, manufacturer, supplier, and direction.
The items subject to repeated price search are moved to the block Checking prices and delivery terms. Repeated price search is performed without interchanges. Up to 5 items can be checked at a time.
Main block – contains items without changes and appears in the upper part of the Cart;
Changed prices and delivery terms – contains items with the changed delivery terms and/or prices. The changes are displayed in red letters for each item in the respective column Term and/or Price;
Out of stock – contains items which are unavailable. The items of this block cannot be ordered. The button Search for a similar item is displayed next to each item. To start price search by the same part number and manufacturer, click this button.
When repeated price search is done, the block disappears and the items are moved to the following blocks:
The block also includes items whose actual quantity after the price search becomes less than the one the client has added to the cart. The field Quantity will show the available number and include the text Х out of Y left.
Items from the block Out of stock are not included in the repeated price search.
The Cart page displays only blocks with the items.
If the user leaves the Cart before all the items are checked, it continues when the Cart page is reopened.
When automatic update of prices and offers in the client's Cart is used, the parameter Shelf life of the cart, days from Settings ► General settings of the online store ► General settings becomes invalid. Clients clean their Cart only manually in the Client part.
